1939-D Mercury Dime NGC MS65FB Generation 2.0 Holder		SOLD

Here is bright gem Mercury Dime in a very early NGC holder. This type of holder is often referred to as the generation 2.0 NGC holder with its borderless white label and the golden NGC logo on the reverse of the slab which is raised up on the plastic on the outside surface of the holder. The holder is also slightly thicker than a modern NGC holder and is typically called a "fatty" holder. Not only is this a very collectible early NGC holder, but the coin itself is quite nice. The 1939-D Mercury Dime has been graded MS65FB by NGC. The FB designation has been given to this coin as the coin exhibits fully split bands on the reverse which is evident of a strongly struck example. The coin is mostly bright white and lustrous, except for a few select areas of original toning. The coin is very nice for the assigned grade with just a couple of marks on the high points of the design that are found under a close inspection. An excellent example of a gem Mercury Dime in an early collectible NGC holder.
