This aluminum medal was issued in 1891 in connection with the dedication of the Stockton California Courthouse and is listed as HK-623 in the Hibler-Kappen book on So-Called Dollars and has been graded MS63PL
by NGC. The obverse of this piece is strongly struck and shows impressive details of the courthouse in relatively high relief. The open fields of both the obverse and reverse reveal many minor handling marks, and a couple of light scratches, but no major distractions are noted. The fields of this bright white piece are strongly prooflike as well. This is the sole finest known example of the HK-623 graded by NGC, with no other examples grading MS63PL and none grading higher. Here is your opportunity to get the finest known example of this so-called dollar. |
