This 1852 Three Cent Silver has been graded MS65 by PCGS. The 1852 trime is a common date as it has the highest mintage in the three cent silver series. However, an 1852 trime in gem MS65 condition with the overall eye appeal of this example could never be considered common. The obverse is toned is a light steel blue color which deepens to darker blue, purple and green colors towards the upper edge. The reverse is a bit lighter in color with a light golden tone. The toning on each side of the piece does mute the luster of the coin slightly, but the coin does still exhibit plenty of flash. Even under extreme magnification, the coin appears to be free of any hits, marks or other issues and is a very strong piece for the grade. A beautiful gem example of the type. |
