1972 Lincoln Cent DDO FS-109 PCGS MS65RD SOLD
1972 Lincoln Cent DDO FS-109 PCGS MS65RD
There are nine different double die obverse varieties of the 1972 Lincoln Cent which are recognized by the major grading services like PCGS. While this one offered here is not the major DDO variety for 1972, it is a relatively scarce variety that is sought after by specialists. This 1972 Doubled Die Obverse FS-109 Lincoln Cent has been graded MS65RD by PCGS. The coin was graded long ago by PCGS when specialty varieties were submitted as Mint Errors. The coin is attributed as the DDO variety on the PCGS label and is the FS-109 (formerly designated as FS-033.59) variety as listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide. The coin is a bright red lustrous example with no major issues. Some light marks are present on the coin, but are consistent with what you would expect on a cent of this grade. The holder does have some light scratches in the plastic that show in the photos but are not on the coin. A nice gem red example of doubled die obverse Lincoln Cent variety.
