This 1966 Washington Quarter has been graded MS67+ by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The coin was also professionally imaged by PCGS for their CoinFacts service and the photo wonderfully captures the beauty of this coin. Over 800 million Washington Quarters were minted in 1966. Of that huge mintage, only two (2) examples have been graded MS67+ by PCGS with no coins grading higher. The coin is bright white and very lustrous. The coin is free of obverse toning, but the reverse does have some subtle golden and iridescent blue color. Only a couple of tiny marks can be found under a very close inspection under magnification, most notable is a small planchet imperfection above the O of DOLLAR on the reverse. The coin also has a slightly weak reverse strike; otherwise, this coin is about as perfect as you could ever hope for in an example of this date. An amazing condition rarity. |
