This is a superb example of the 1935 Connecticut Commemorative Half Dollar certified by PCGS and graded MS66+. The obverse image of the Charter Oak is one of the most attractive designs in the classic commemorative half dollar series. The art deco styled eagle on the reverse is also quite attractive. This example has only a few very tiny marks on the obverse, but also has decent original luster and very attractive, but not overpowering, rim toning. The reverse is slightly hazy and there are a few noticeable hits in the fields, but the coin nevertheless has great eye appeal. No doubt that this coin was given the plus grade for the above average overall eye appeal and nice original luster as most Connecticut Half Dollars that you'll see on the market are relatively boring. This is an overall amazing example of this popular classic commemorative half dollar. |
