This 1832 Small Letters Capped Bust Half Dollar has been graded AU58 by NGC. The coin has also been certified by CAC as being solid for the assigned grade. The coin is also attributed as the Overton 122 variety, which is one of the common varieties. AU58 graded Capped Bust Halves always seem to be in high demand and this one is a stunning example. The coin has just a touch of rub on Liberty’s cheek and has no major hits or marks. The vibrant rainbow toning which encircles each side of the coin along the rims is the real focus of this piece. All of the colors of the rainbow are present around both sides of the coin. The shadows in the photos somewhat hide that fact and undoubtedly the color and overall look of the coin will be better when you view it in hand. The coin also has really nice cartwheel luster that makes the rainbow colors come to life as the coin is turned under a light. From the sticker on the reverse of the holder, it appears another dealer once had the coin advertised at a significantly higher price. A beautiful example of the Capped Bust Half Dollar.
