This 1873 Closed 3 Indian Head Cent has been graded MS62BN by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of their newer-style edge-view holders. A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. Higher resolution copies of the image (nearly 5x the size provided below) are available on the PCGS website. This is by far the most attractive MS62BN Indian Head Cent I have dealt with. At first glance, the coin appears to be undergraded by at least a few points given the strong details, terrific luster and overall eye appeal. Upon a very close inspection, however, there are several light marks on the Indian’s cheek which may be the reason for the relatively low mint state grade, but even with those marks, the MS62BN grade seems extremely strict. Otherwise, the coin appears to be problem-free and extremely eye appealing. An amazing specimen of the date with beautiful color on both sides. |
