This (1858) George H. Lovett white metal merchant token has been graded MS64 by PCGS and is encapsulated in one of their newer-style edge-view holders. The token has been attributed as NY-488 as indicated on the PCGS label. This is one of the more popular merchant tokens featuring the detailed cupid and sea monster design on the obverse. The token also has a reeded edge and is somewhat prooflike on both sides with just a touch of haze in the fields. The details are sharp and the only issue of note is a scratch to the left of the address on the reverse. An impressive example of this popular merchant token.
