1926 Sesquicentennial Half PCGS MS64 SOLD
1926 Sesquicentennial Half PCGS MS64
Here is a wonderful example of the 1926 Sesquicentennial of American Independence Commemorative Half Dollar which has been graded MS64 by PCGS and encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The obverse depicts the first President of the United States, George Washington, alongside the then current President of the United States, Calvin Coolidge. The reverse shows a very nice rendition of the Liberty Bell. A few light marks can be found scattered about the coin, seemingly keeping the coin from a gem grade, but non are significant or distracting. The coin has very strong original cartwheel luster that is much better than typically seen on this issue. The piece also has light, but attractive toning. The toning is very subtle, but when looked at closely under a strong light, most of the colors of the rainbow can be discovered, particularly around the rims. An impressive example of the Sesquicentennial Commemorative Half and much better than is usually found at the MS64 grade.
