1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Expo Official Medal HK-355 NGC MS65BN |

|
This piece is a beautiful copper example of the official medal of the 1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition held in Seattle and is listed as HK-355 in the Hibler-Kappen book on So-Called Dollars and has been graded MS65BN by NGC and is encapsulated in a newer-style edge-view holder. The official medals of the Exposition were designed by George Morgan and were struck by the U.S. Mint at their exhibit on the fairgrounds. This is a very attractive example of the medal with a wonderful medium brown color that is completely toned on both sides with purple and pink colors. The piece also exhibits strong mint luster which adds to the overall eye appeal and gives the piece a somewhat satiny look. No major hits, marks or spots are present on this gem medal. Overall, this is a very attractive and high-grade example of the official medal from the 1909 AYPE in Seattle. |
