This 1931 Latvia 5 Lati has been graded MS64 by NGC and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder. This large silver coin from Latvia has been struck from .835 pure silver. The coin is free of toning and has decent original luster which appears to be slightly muted giving the coin more of a satin finish look. There are some light hits on the obverse portrait (the largest of which is on the ear) which likely limit the technical grade of the coin, but they are not too significant and not very distracting when viewed in hand. A very pleasing near gem example of this large Latvian silver coin.
