This 1979 Tonga Paanga has been graded MS64 by NGC and is encapsulated in one of their large-sized holders. This Tonga Paanga, or Pa’anga, is an interesting rectangular shaped coin that measures 48mm by 27mm. The obverse features the image of Taufa’ahau Tupou IV and the reverse features 100 palm trees and references the F.A.O. Technical Cooperation Program. Only 26,000 of these coins were minted and this is a relatively nice example with just a few minor hits and no major issues. An interesting rectangular coin from Tonga. |
