Here is an 1890-A Germany 20 Pfennig which has been graded MS63 by NGC and is encapsulated in one of their newer-style edge-view holders. The coin is bright white and has excellent mint luster. The eagle side of the coin has amazing details and appears to be free of any notable issues, not even any small marks are present and in looking at just that side the coin would appear to be grossly undergraded. The reverse side does show several light marks in the open areas of the fields around the denomination, but even then, they are not distracting and none of the marks seems major enough to account for the relatively low mint state grade that was assigned. Overall, this is a beautiful and well-preserved example of the date with only a single MS64 example grading higher at NGC. Would be very hard to find a more attractive piece in this grade. |
