1860 Smith & Hartmann Indian Token NY-818 NGC MS64		SOLD

This 1860 F.B. Smith & Hartmann Indian Head brass merchant token has been graded MS64 by NGC and is encapsulated in one of their newer-style edge-view holders. The token has been attributed as M-NY-818 as indicated on the NGC label. This is a very popular merchant token having an amazingly detailed Indian head design. The token also features a reeded edge and is much thicker than a typical coin or token. There is a great deal of eye appeal in this piece which has semi-prooflike fields and decent overall color. The obverse has a fairly even medium golden color. The reverse has a somewhat more vibrant golden color with a faint lilac toning around the rim which is quite attractive. An impressive example of this popular merchant token.
