Here is an amazing 1941-S Mercury Dime which has been graded MS67+FBPL by NGC and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The coin has also been certified by CAC as being solid for the assigned grade. The FB designation has been given to this coin as the coin exhibits fully split bands on the reverse which is evident of a strongly struck example. Additionally, the fields of this coin are fully prooflike and NGC has noted this fact on the label with their PL designation. The eye appeal of this piece is spectacular. At a quick glance, this dime looks like a proof specimen until one notices the date and mintmark. The coin is bright white and has just a few tiny marks that show only under a close inspection. The prooflike fields show many die polish lines which are characteristic of a fresh die and further add to the appeal of this piece. Although Mercury Dimes with the PL designation are not exceedingly rare, they are certainly not common. Out of over 140,000 Mercury Dimes graded by NGC to date, only 70 pieces have received the PL designation. Here you not only have that coveted PL designation, but a PL example in a very high grade of MS67+FB with a CAC sticker!
Because of the difficulty in capturing the overall look of the coin in a single image, I have also included a short high-definition video of the coin towards the bottom of this listing in an attempt to give you a better idea of what this coin will look like in hand. Please note that you may need to adjust the video quality to 1080p and may need to increase the size of the video to full screen in order to see the coin in maximum detail.
