This undated Andrew Jackson Presidential Residence Medal has been graded MS63 by NGC. In or about 1861, George H. Lovett produced a series of medals featuring the residences of all of the United States Presidents to that time. The piece is fully toned on both sides and appears somewhat dark at first look. However, the surfaces of the medal are semi-prooflike and light up with beautiful color when tilted into a strong light. I have attempted to show that color in the images provided, but the piece has so much more color and life to it when viewing it in hand. The medal is well struck and is free of noticeable major issues. An amazing example of this relatively scarce piece from the Lovett Presidential Residence series.
Because of the difficulty in capturing the overall look of the coin in a single image, I have also included a short high-definition video of the coin towards the bottom of this listing in an attempt to give you a better idea of what this coin will look like in hand. Please note that you may need to adjust the video quality to 1080p and may need to increase the size of the video to full screen in order to see the coin in maximum detail. |
