Mexican 2.5 Pesos gold coins are popular small gold coins that are often available in large quantities. Most examples that you will find will be 1945 dated coins which are often restrikes struck in later years. In contrast, the 1944 dated 2.5 Pesos Mexico gold coin has a relatively low mintage of only 20,000 coins. This example of the 1944-Mo Mexico 2.5 Pesos Gold has been graded MS65 by ANACS. The coin is composed of .900 fine gold and contains .0603 oz. of actual gold weight. This gem example has a bright even gold color that is free of spotting or other issues. When tilted into a light, the obverse is completely covered with diagonal lines in the background which appear to be adjustment marks made by the mint in ensuring the planchet was proper weight prior to striking. A neat looking gem example of this better date 2.5 Pesos gold.
