1938-D/S Buffalo Nickel PCGS MS65 OGH CAC SOLD
1938-D/S Buffalo Nickel PCGS MS65 OGH CAC
Here is a 1938-D/S Buffalo Nickel which as been graded MS65 by PCGS and is encapsulated in an old green label holder which is approximately twenty years old. The coin has also been certified by CAC as being solid for the assigned grade. Although not attributed on the PCGS label, this coin is certainly the D/S repunched mint mark variety which is listed as FS-511 in the Cherrypicker's Guide. This coin is a very attractive example for the assigned grade. The coin has nice mint luster and colorful toning on both sides. The toning is very even on both sides with a mostly golden and orange color with hints of deeper and more vibrant colors present. Only a couple of tiny marks can be found under magnification and the coin really looks nicer than the grade suggests. The old PCGS plastic holder does have several small scuffs and scratches which show in the photos. An eye appealing example of this popular Buffalo Nickel RPM variety.
