Here is a 1916-S $20 St. Gaudens Gold Double Eagle has been graded MS65 by PCGS. This coin has a very even and attractive gold color with decent original mint luster. The coin is a fantastic example of the type and is certainly a nice coin for the grade. Only a light scratch across Liberty’s mid-section and torch, which is difficult to make out unless the light catches it just right, seemingly prevents a higher technical grade. Another small mark on the reverse sun under IN is also worthy of note. An overall great looking St. Gaudens Double Eagle with a good value considering that this date more than doubles in price at the next higher grade.
