1984 Squared Quarter 1/2 oz. Silver X-301b PCGS PR65 |

Here is one of the coolest looking coins you will see. This 1984 Squared Quarter has been graded PR65 by PCGS and is encapsulated in the newer-style edge-view holder.
A TrueView photo was taken by PCGS which captures the beauty of this coin in the best light. This coin is cataloged in the Krause Publications Guide to Unusual World Coins as X #301b and is the half-ounce silver version. This is a privately minted piece that was one of the first coins to have been designed with the assistance of a computer. The computer was used to digitally stretch the regular Washington Quarter design from a circle to a square, resulting in this very interesting design. According to the catalog, only 602 of these were minted; these are not easy to find, especially in gem condition. Included is the original box of issue with the original information booklet. A very interesting coin and a guaranteed conversation piece.
